Out of the blue e-mail

Re: Out of the blue e-mail

Some people have nothing better to do than belittle others. All this means is that she is unhappy with what she does, so trashing you makes her fell a little bit better about her miserable life. She probaly wishes she was a cinematographer as opposed to an ignorant denny's waitress.

i'm actually doing a wedding for this couple this july and they initially wanted me to shoot 16mm film... I told them their wedding was going to cost 20 thousand if we did it that way!.... they changed their minds to digital quickly.

Her email to you:
Hi Jeremy,

I was looking on the internet for wedding cinematographers, and I found your website. You say you are "cinematographers", but you are not unless you use 16mm or high 8 film. You only showcase digital cameras, so therefore you should not technically call yourself a cinematographer.

Maybe you should reconsider the terms you use for your work, because it is misleading and incorrect.

Your email to her:
Hi Saundra,

I understand you were looking on the internet for wedding cinematographers, and found my website. I say I am a cinematographer because a cinematographer is a "Director of Photography", therefore I can technically call myself a cinematographer. I could also call myself a DOP.

And, technically, you could call yourself a DOPE, as it is obvious you did not bother to do any research before writing your email.

Jeremy
