Hello everybody. Me and 3 friends just finished our short film, competing in "PlayOFF" - a contest under Odense International Film Festival.

We had 48 hours to produce a film with a max length of 3 minutes.

The topic was "silver", and the film had to have a button it it. That was the briefing. ere is our movie:

Hi, Koeffe.! :)

I'm going to start with the positive stuff.. Kudos for trying something that's a bit different -- In terms of storyline, photography and editing. I like that you chose to never really show the face of the lead. It maintains a sense of mystery, and it really adds to the mood of the film. A lot of the angles were pretty warped compared to what you'd usually see, and I think your film benefits from that. :)

Having said that -- I'm not sure I was quite able to follow the storyline. I'm going to see it again it sometime, and maybe then it'll make more sense to me. :).. Other than that, there's a couple of technical issues.. What camera did you shoot this on.? Some of the images were quite noisy, and there were some artefacts caused by the fluorescent lights and the rolling shutter..

Still, I think it's cool that you've decided to do something like this. Something that is unsettling -- and then stays to be that way all the way through. :)

Christian

BTW.. Are you guys from Denmark.? If so -- Så er det fedt at se, at der er andre danskere herinde.! :D

Hello Christian. Thanks for the response.

We did, on purpose, try to keep the film a little mystic, and the plot a little unsettled - something to interpret on.

My interpretation of the film is: This main character has been doing some mess, causing him some trouble. He's trying to find his true identity, but keeps returning to the same base - the elevator, or his old personality. In the end, he finally finds an opportunity to break the cycle, and he flips a coin to take an important decision. The viewer never finds out the result, but my own interpretation again is that ... The coin led him into the elevator in the first place, so why should it do him any good now?

Considering the technical part, the film was shot with two different cameras. A Nikon D5000, and a Canon Vixia HF200.

And yes, we are from Copenhagen (2200). Did you enter the contest?

I'm 2200 as well.. :)

No, I didn't enter the competition. I've been pretty busy working on some other projects, so I actually hadn't even noticed that it had begun.. :)... Anyway -- I guess, that just makes it easier for me to wish you the best of luck.! ;)
