Other AVCHD transcoding options for FCP

When I log and transfer my footage in FCP the only two transcode options are ProRes and AIC. I was wondering if there's any software able to transcode to other codecs on capture. Right now, just to get smaller files I've been transcoding to AIC then exporting that footage to HDV and deleting the AIC originals (I do have the very original AVCHD footage backed up). I would rather bypass that last extra step, is there any kind of third party software able to help me do this?

...Then again, this may soon be a moot point if Apple announces native AVCHD editing in FCS 3 at WWDC :) (crossing fingers)

Check out Neo Scene by Cineform. They have a Mac version now.
