OT: followfocus whip/handle mount

i know this is kinda off topic, but i have a quick question about the way that handles/whips are attached to follow focuses.

do they all (redrock, cinevate, indifocus, etc...) use a connector that looks like a socket wrench? - quasi-rectangle with a little retractable ball.
that seems like a REALLY wiggly way to go about things.

They do. It's an industry standard size and shape. Every unit I've used uses the same (petroff, arri, cavision)

You might think it's not a strong connection, but it really is sturdy. Save for the Indifocus, which literally uses a socket wrench type, and that IS wiggly.
