Sweet! If NAB is canceled, I sure hope that Tentacle still has it ready for sale right after NAB time!
 
I use the 802 under light clothing. I had a couple of 801s, but the HF peak had an audible affect on the companders of my analog systems, so I got rid of them. I try not to put mics under heavy clothing anyway and use end-fire mics pointing out to clear air from under collars, button flaps and such. FWIW, the 801/802 are also the exact size/shape of the Tram TR50, so any wind or mounting accessory designed for them will work on the OST.

Might want to keep an eye on what Deity is up to. I haven't used their lavs (or any of their stuff), but some early reports are promising. And they're not too expensive. Gotham is a Deity dealer, btw. (Maybe keep an eye on Rode, too):

So far, AJA, Nikon and few other small players have canceled. If Sony or Canon bail, everyone will probably bail and NAB won't happen.
I'm sure all of the big players are monitoring all of the news and reports by the minute in order to decide. The cutoff for them, because of
travel and gear logistics, is a huge, slow responding freight liner so if they're going to pull the plug, they have to do it soon.
 
A few days ago, Adobe cancelled their Adobe Summit, that was to be held in Las Vegas at the end of the month:

That's 2.5ish weeks before NAB. But a friend who's company exhibits at NAB mentioned that companies need to ship their exhibits now/soon, so they're making decisions about whether to do that. Sigh. Others here can comment with more authority on that.

Hopefullly we'll have clarity within a week or two...
 
I've done NAB setup. They have plenty of time to decide. It takes 3 days to set up a medium complexity booth. A week to ship from the east coast. But they need more time to schedule a shipper. They use shipping companies that specialize in exhibitions.
 
My only real experience with NAB booth setup was helping rather small companies with their booths, but I've also helped put on conferences (though more in the 5,000ish range of attendees --tiny by NAB standards-- and didn't work on the exhibits, but did hear all the agony from that team, and that was all over 15 years ago now. But my friend's comments ring true.

And I misstated my friend's comments. It's not that you -can- ship quickly (though expensively), it's that NAB will start accepting frieght on March 16. A bunch of big companies do like to get their many container-loads of stuff delivered cheaply(ish), so they're making decisions about shipping now.
 
Totally! I think no matter what, show goes ahead or show gets cancelled, the logistics this year are going to be extra hairy!

But back to SF's post, let us know how whatever you use to dress your lav works out for you!
