Organized Art (48 Film Project winner 2005 Greensboro) Matthew B. Moore Film

J. is my Bobby D. He's been in 6 or 7 of my films. He's so damn "full steam ahead". I've never met an actor that plays as hard as J. Even if he isn't getting paid, he still gives it all. He's an indy filmmakers dream.

The film had to be written, shot and edited in 48 hours. The genre (mocumentary) was drawn from a hat.

All of the teams had to use a line, "It hurts when I do this."
one prop - a softball
one character - S. Stevens, Locksmith.

Thanks for the info! I recently moved to a new city and, of course, lost nearly all of my production contacts -- now I have to learn lighting for myself. Every little tip helps.

For the interview set-up we had on Alfonzo Parmesianni;

1. A 1200par HMI hits the window from outside at about a 45 angle.
2. A Sourse 4 was used to spot the art work.
3. An Omni with a Chiemera for the key light. Up high and pushed in a little to create the hotspots on the forehead to make it look like an overhead.
4. There was also a hair light that hit Alfonzo on the shoulder and back of the head to pull him out of the darkness. I think it was a 650.

After that you just scrim or march the lights around until your light ratios make sence. Of course, there is some flagging and blackwrap to remove unwanted light.

All of this lighting was done by Alton Chewining(DP), Catherine Cravens(Gaffer) and Josh Keeney(Key Grip). Alton is "Master Alton" in these parts. His is the DP for this area and all of us learn and grow from his examples.

Spidey is great too, but he was editing on another 48 hour project at the time. I use Alton when ever I can, however on the Red Neck Samurai stuff, that is all Spidey. He and I have kind of turned that project into our "brain baby".

I normally don't comment on the basis that someone has already said it for me. But wow...

I love this. It had a sort of sentimental value. Seems like a movie me and my cousins would make as we got older (we made tons of goofy stuff as young'uns).

Bravo, man. Indeed!

we should all get together and get J in on it too, make a collaborative piece!

I'm for that.
As funny as it sounds, He's been in so many things around this area, that one could literally throw a "J. Lublinkholf" festival. All J., all day. In the stuff I've worked on with him, he's been a drunk, an old man, a meth-head, a gangster, a hot tempered gear-head, a bouncer, a sheriff,...um...hold on, I have more...a pill popping party goer, a civil war soildier.....and a stand in for Domonique Percell, which makes him a frickin' saint.

I really enjoyed this, great job!

btw: what did happen to that red neck samurai stuff? I love to see the full short/feature/whatever it was.

RNS is being edited. We have tons of post effects and sound do take care of. When we were writing the 2nd on, other factors came into play. We have make sure they link properly. We are going to finish the edit after we shoot the 2nd one (9 days from now). The RNS project will be several episodes long and could be put together as a feature, but I like to keep the hype going but just releasing an episode at a time. That way, no one gets the whole story and we can piss everybody off by making them wait for the next episode. My hope is that we can just keep shooting these things until some one decides to give us money to take them to the grand scale. A while back a guy set us his version of the trailer with music that made it seem an epic.
I replied to him that we would need millions of dollars and armored elephants to meet the epic music that he sent us. That's what I would like to happen...who wouldn't. The story gets larger in my head every day.

Hang with us.
Matt
