What exactly is happening here? UV haze behind lens? How's that working?

They look like its shot on a RED MX using cooke s4/i. What is this again?

Colors/detail become intermixed (colors more pastel, detail less harsh). The mixing varies in degree according to proximity within the frame. Detail has a silky/smooth texture, CoC of the bokeh is altered to become more diffuse/smooth. Strong light points have halation to some degree, and shadows are slightly raised. The luma extremes behave in an S fashion, so a bit more DR may be retained (1/3 stop at max). As opposed to clinical object separation in the optical path, the image has a more organic feel at the pixel level*

Haven't done a proper before and after; I'll try and put something like that together, with the formatt 1/4 low con in there too.
