Ordered HMC150 from B&H

Last Thursday I finally decided to go with the HMC150. I purchased it via B&H's online store. The item is on back order and its estimated arrival at B&H is 7-14 days. I have a potential shoot coming up next week, and wanted to see what others experiences were with the ordering process at B&H. If you ordered during a time when the wait was 7-14 days, how long did it take for your order to be fulfilled? Any info is appreciated. I'm not really in that much of a rush, just curious to see whether or not i'll be able to use this for my shoot.

congrats on your purchase, youre going to love the camera. b&h is usually pretty good on their shipping whenever i order something from there but i haven't ran into anything that was on back order. I actually purchased mine from willoughby's because they were open and had the camera in stock. i went through amazon and the camera came in like 3-4 days later. what kind of footage will you be shooting. im in chicago also, more around niles/parkridge area.

Lol, for me it took about 14 days ;). The staff wasn't terribly helpful wrt figuring out the timing, either - I think they just read off the website, too. I spent a lot of time on the phone and eventually talked to the regional dealer for B&H in New Jersy. But he was really shocked to hear from me and I don't think he'd appreciate tons of phone calls every time B&H goes out of stock.

So my experience was basically longest-case. If you want you can try asking them for details. If you really need the camera maybe buy somewhere else. But of course factor in that any new camera takes time to learn and if you're already cutting it close then you won't have much time to experiment with your record settings and the workflow to weed out the glitches.

The 2 we ordered were 12-14 days even though back ordered. They are always close to their estimates.
