orange cast with polarizer

We might have made a mistake but we bought a circular polarizer for our 500. It is supposed to be fine for HD video cameras but nevertheless we get a serious orange cast to the picture that we have trouble fighting with white balance.

I've only ever used polarizers with stills cameras and I've never noticed a colour cast.

Is there a trick to this or are we hooped?
 
I had a similar issue but with ND filters. After some research I found out that the IR Filter on the lower end P2 cameras (HPX500 & HVX200) aren't that great. One solution was to use a pancro filter. If you do a search on this forum you will find a post by myself a few months ago as well as others going back quite a few months.
