F55: OptiTron2 for Canon ProLock shipping

Jacek: great stuff---I love my Nikon Prolock mount. But for the love of God...if you're talking at length about a professional video product, put on a mike! Don't just use the camera mike from 15 feet away in a echoing room....

I did put on lavalier and it was even worse, cutting off and losing volume as I turned my head...
Just ignore the form and concentrate on the content- this is not a Hollywood production ;-)

I'm think of buying a Canon 200-400 f/4L to use with my F55. Will your product(s) allow me to have iris control with that specific lens? What about focus or stabilization?

New web site is UP!!! www.optitek.org
New exciting products- ARRI compatibility now, BMC URSA Mini and Canon coming soon!!!
All manuals, instructional videos, pictures are accessible from the site. We are adding features as fast as we can but this is adequate for showcasing OptiTek products. The gallery page (news->gallery) has our social media accounts linked. Comments WELCOME!!!!

I just bought a Canon ProLock last week for my F55. How can I be sure it is running the latest firmware? And how do I update the firmware?

Is it not possible for a customer to update the firmware themselves? I was given the option before it shipped of waiting a few days for the firmware to be updated, but chose just to do it myself and get it on it's way. Are you saying that is not possible for me to update the firmware now that the unit has arrived?

yes absolutely.
you just need a physical way to plug a serial port into the adapter.
We supply these adapters to the dealers.
you could possibly make yourself a cable that has DB9 serial plug on one end and 4 pin hirose on the other.

I guess I'll just skip it since I don't have: 1) A cable. 2) The firmware. 3) Instructions.
How am I supposed to know what the cable even looks like? Where is the firmware? Where are the instructions?
I don't see anything at all about it on your website so I guess I give up. It shouldn't be this hard to get info.

It's not for the faint hearted haha.... ;-)
I think you'll be better off taking it in. We can supply the adapter and software if you insist but that's just another operation that's not essential for customers IMO- but.... I'm listening.....

Yes IS works and focus is smooth and repeatable. All copies of the same lens have the same focus marks.. Yes standard lenses with mo modifications or any gear additions. Plug and play- watch the videos..

We now have Group buy over at Reduser for the OptiTron2 units.
The same units can be used with our Mark1, 2, 3 EF->Fz adapters.
here is the link:

The discount could be as much as 25% if we reach the number of buyers (40 units)
I'll be happy to extend this offer to our Sony customers- I have a lot of gratitude to you for the tremendous support you offered for the past two years..
