I have a bunch of posters I was making to kinda get myself into the writing and creative mood. I used a bunch of the same stuff for all, like the credits, which are mostly fake (names and such), certain fonts, etc... but I put them in to pump me up and to make it look better. =)

So, I'm not sure which to do.

Cool stuff. I like the b & w poster the best. Would like to see your production logo animated (spinning nickel perhaps).

Are you working one of these ideas up for an entry?

Love your logo. I took the liberty of throwing together what I saw as an animated logo in my head:

That's similar to what I originally wanted to do, except I wanted to see it fall, go for a little roll, and then topple over and the cam comes over head to reveal the logo around where the nickel rested.

I was thinking about shooting it on greenscreen and then blending it into the animation, but not sure if that's what i want. probably wouldn't turn out too well.

Damn good animation tho. The movement looks very realistic.
 
Glad you liked it. It was just a quickie setup in Max using the Reactor rigid-body physics engine. I just mapped your nickel onto a disc and reversed the map for a quick&dirty bump-map to give it some relief. I didn't mess with the material setting and just bumped up the specular to give a little shine, thus the nickel is a little funky looking. This is about the most simple reactor simulation there is, so it takes all of about 1 minute to set it up. Then you can just drop the nickel from different heights and with different rotations until you see what you want. You can also then fly your camera in and around the motion however you choose. By the way, I'm doing a CG cell-phone drop in my film using Reactor the same way. I've been dropping it different ways to get it to land on its side because the camera is going to move in and you'll see the snake attack reflected in the glass of the cell-phone. I'll put some production stills up when I get it tweaked to fall the way I want.

Also both of your logo animations are cool, but I lean towards Mark's because I think yours is a tad too long and I like the sound design one could do with Mark's with the nickle clinking etc.

One big note, sorry to be blunt, but the font has got to be changed. It took a long time for me to figure out what it said, especial since I wasn't sure at first whether to read up left, down left, up right, down right, or up left, up right, down left, down right since I couldn't easily make out the words. The font is cool but not suitable for something that needs to be recognizable instantly.

I like the whole nickel thing. I actually wear a buffalo nickel around my neck with a whole drilled through it, a gift from the cast of my production of American Buffalo.

I don't know if you are still monitoring this thread, but I like the B&W over the color poster and I love the "TV" poster as well.

I have to agree with Jack about your font. It looks beautiful and very decorative but CANNOT READ without study. (I kept skipping trying to read it. Not a good thing.)

Just my .02

And Aram, That dropping dime clip was very cool!
 
Whoa! Kyle, I am glad that you pointed that out! I didn't initially see the link for Mark's animated logo. Very cool.
