So it is apparent that Panasonic is not going to just make it easy for us to hack the newer cameras. The only reason I have seen for that is when Vitaliy said that they are very concerned about us defeating the 3rd party battery protection. So what if Vitaliy promised not to include the battery patch and Panasonic gave us new hackable firmware? Would you be willing to still donate $50 to the hacking effort and still pay $50+ for batteries in order to get the hack?
Panasonic probably will never condone the hack since it could be a big financial liability for them. However, they could easily issue GF1/GH1 firmware for the Auto ISO flaw that they fixed for the G2 and G10. That is a legitimate defect that they have already corrected for other cameras. They could easily issue new hackable firmware for GF1/GH1 and say it was for a fix to the Auto ISO flaw.

So what do you think? Is hacking the older cameras important to you? Will hacking the GH2 be important to you(1080p @ 60 FPS, 1080p @ 30 FPS, 1080p @ 25 FPS)?
