I was giving some footage on a dvd. The footage has already been compressed. But here is the problem im having........ the footage is slowing down my system (mac pro dual 2.8's with 6gb of ram, 1tb hard drive in the expansion bay). The time line drags really bad, the file is only about 600mbs (not big at all). If anyone has any insight to this problem i would really appreciate it

Thanks ahead of time.

a DVD movie or a file on a DVD? If the latter, make sure you copy it to your system and then import that, I know its silly but sometimes people forget and it causes the system to go sloooow.

If it's a DVD movie, how did you rip it? DV/NTSC? Uncompressed?

So, i converted the video back to dv/ntsc and deleted my clip and then reconnected the footage with the converted clip., and WOW what a deference.

Thanks again for the heads up
