Optimal settings to shoot Standard Def?

I have a two day conference Mon + Tues I'll have to shoot, download and edit so fast on location I think it will be more efficient to shoot SD rather than HD and dumb down during export.

However, I haven't been pleased with the 300's SD output in 16x9, perhaps it's my settings, or maybe I am so used to looking at HD most SD looks quite crummy now. I'm using Vivid Scene file. Does anyone who is a techie have any "optimal" settings for the best SD for the 300? I've cranked up Detail to +2.

Thanks,

Hi Ned, here my two cents.

First i think the Vivid Scene File is maybe too harsh for a "boring" conference-shoot... Its not a music-video. But thats a personal favour question... If you and the client likes it, why not.
I like the BBC-Video File for Stuff like that...

... and that leads me too the second Point. The more you drop down the Resolution, the more Aliasing you will get. The BBC File has Detail at -2 for FullHD-Shooting.
I shoot with it even in SD, it looks good. But maybe its not a bad Idea to shoot with less Detail (maybe -4) in SD too avoid Aliasing.

Heres a link too an helpfull PDF from BBC:

Point 2.4.2 is maybe interesting for you.
