Optimal Settings for 720p30PN

Hello-

I've got a shoot coming up in a couple of weeks with a client who requested 720p30. I intend on shooting PN to save me space while on location.

Does anyone have any optimal settings for shooting with 720p30PN? I've noticed some jittery movement with this the times I've shot with it. I typically shoot in 720p60 and it obviously has a more smooth, video look about it.

Maybe it's the shutter speed, or something else I'm missing. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks.

Normal shutter speed with 720 30pn is 1/60. Might want to try 1/120 with fast pans
or moving objects. I shoot this all the time and have no problems with jittering (I do with
24p though, camera movement has to be very controlled)

If you want a more video, less stuttery feel to your 30p shoot with a 360 degree shutter (in film cam mode) or simply switch the shutter off which defaults to 360 degrees or 1/30th shutter speed.

This will add a little more motion blur to your shots so on a fast pan your image will become less clear, but it does work as an in between.

That's exactly what I ended up doing, Noel. It looked great. I had been used to using 60, but doing 30pN ended up looking terrific under these settings. Can't say enough about it.

Thanks for the advice, everyone!
