Optimal hack / medium for stable HQ well lit studio greenscreen work

Wow... hundreds of pages of reading, and a few things still aren't quite clear because there's frankly a bunch of conflicting info out there. Basically just want the best possible color info. If I understand correctly, true 4:2:2 output is not possible even with hdmi, right? But, shorter GOP means crisper outlines which means cleaner keys. Also, shooting 1080p 30 rather than 720p means more total color info, so again, better keys even if final output is 720.

Do I have that much right?

So... if I'm shooting in the studio, should I get a blackmagic card, and hook it up to my macpro? If I'm only shooting short bits and can use the cards at high bitrate, is there any real advantage to the hdmi?

What would be optimal recommendation for my purposes in terms of recording format (hdmi, cards, etc), and hack (bitrate, GOP... go for gusto, or some more middle of the road solution, etc)

thx.
