Opinions on playback using DVX...

I'm shooting media training tomorrow which involves shooting a 5 minute interview, then rewinding and playing back. For simplicity's sake, I think I'm going to use my DVX for playback. However, for rewinding, I'm going to bring my 1-chip camera.

What do you think? Is that OK for the DVX, as long as I'm not rewinding on it?

I think for the play back of 5 min it should be fine, I'd do it, however I don't know for sure.

I only have my dvx right now, I really don';t think its a big deal then again i'm not running my cam for 80 min a day and rewindgin it and capturing with it, I bet that is when you can wear you cam out quick.

These cams are a lot tougher than people give them credit for. Are we actually worried about rewinding 5 mins of tape?

if you're worried about being able to rewind and watch 5 minutes of tape on a 2500 dollar camera ur out of ur damn mind. no, dont make a habit of playing back footage on ur dvx cuz u dont want to wear out the heads. but 5 minutes sure as **** isnt going to wear them out.

yeah really 5 minutes is nothing. they wouldnt have put a play button on the cam if it werent meant to play back tapes.
