I love my HVX-200. I love the 60D. I love the Canon 2.8L 24mm-70mm with the 60D.

I'd like to use a lens adaptor to use the 24-70 with the HVX-200. Would likely rent first. Does anybody have any recommendations? Thanks.

each of the different brands of adapter has its own set of better and worse points. but i dont think any one of them is deal breaking bad, or deal making spectacular.
its just a matter of work style and look preferences. if youve never used any of them, you wont be jaded to one over the other. and they ALL do a fine job. so i wouldnt worry too much.

when i bought mine several years ago, i just browsed the forums of each manufacturer. read what people were saying then checked out all the still and video galleries and decided what i thought best suited my needs.

you'd probably be best advised to do the same.

as far as rental goes, from what ive seen, there arent a lot of proper rental shops that rent 35mm adapters. i'd assume the reasons being are that
1. they arent so expensive that a lot of people wouldnt just buy their own.
2. there are a LOT of small and companion components (baseplates, rails, mattebox, follow focus, monitors, etc...) required to properly use one.
3. they are pretty easy for an uninformed user to either break or use incorrectly and try to demand a refund.

I bought a Letus Elite to put my Contax Zeiss on my HPX170. Very happy with it. Sharp and contrasty images (the Extreme is a less contrasty and sharp, but does the job as well). Feels sturdy. Easy to maintain, easy and pretty fast to set up. Canon mounts are available for it. Hope that helps...

at that time (3+ years ago) i bought the brevis. for several reasons:
1. it was AVAILABLE! i'd wanted the sgpro (shoot35.com) but they didnt have any available
2. id spoken at length with the company owner (dennis wood) and he took a LOT of time educating me in whats behind adapters.
3. at the time, it seemed the most straight-forward one to use. in that it was the only one that didnt REQUIRE a full baseplate and rails rig to use.

the sad thing about 3 above, was though it didnt require a baseplate and rails to function. it DID require them (as well as a follow focus, mattebox and lens supports) in order to function WELL. the same is true for ANY adapter. the adapter itself is just part of the equation...

i liked my brevis rig and it worked well for me for several years. until i sold it to get a DSLR rig. which now i really regret doing : (

if i were going to buy another adapter today. id probably go with a letus. simply because they seem the most committed to it. but id be just as happy with a brevis or sgpro or redrock.
i also really like the cinemek because it has no moving parts. but it also appears to have the most light-loss of them... but thats just what i hear. i have no proof to back that up.

Thanks your comments are helpful. My local camera rental house has a P-S Technic, expensive to buy or rent, and a more affordable
Letus. I think that I'll test out the Letus. The rental shop has it set up with a PL mount so I'll have to get a Canon to PL adaptor.

I have the Brevis MP.2 and really like the way it works. Easy to set up and with my Canon 24-70 or 85 prime it is nice. I do not know which element I have but I believe it depends on the feel you want out of your shot.

I just bought the Cinemek G35 but have not used it yet. I do wish the Cinemek were flipped but I will live with it.

It is hard to say who makes the right one so I just bought one! Originally it was going to be the SGPro because of their build quality. The Brevis is built well though.
