Opera vocal???

I want to use an opera vocal in a shoot this weekend -- have the actor sing the lyrics a capella which will then fade into the actual operatic performance by a professional singer with full orchestra. Any opera song will do, but I don't know if I can get a royalty free clip of something like that anywhere. I've tried Beatpik, but there's no opera there.

Any help appreciated!!

You may be able to find something public domain - but that would likely be an old recording and not the full fidelity people are used to. problem with rights for Opera is the composition (most cases: too old for copyright by hundreds of years) - the singer - and then the orchestra/conductor. A lot of ground to cover!

Thanks, Michael. I found something in the Prelinger Archives that I might be able to us. As I understand, the stuff there is public domain but I'm going to re-check. It's from a radio show featuring old opera cuts. If it sounds old and scratchy that is okay in terms of the film, maybe even better.
