Opening TIFF files with alpha.

When I open a TIFF templates, the alpha won't come. Or, I'm doing it the wrong way? Should I import the TIFF templates instead of openning it to have the alpha?
 
I tried to import the templates, but still... the area where it supposed to have alpha is black. Did I missed a step here? Or it's simply impossible to do?
 
What do you mean by a "template"? If a TIFF file has an alpha channel, the channel should be visible in the "Channels" palette.

But a tiff template? Where is that file coming from?
 
Sorry if my tranlation is wrong, I mean, it's TIFF file wich I must modify. Switching logos for a broadcast hockey game. Nothing much, but it would be wise if I got my alpha channel after I modify those files.
