Open Water

Re: Open Water

Maybe the shark will do some cool tricks in the movie that they had to pay a trainer for, like jump through a flaming hula hoop, or pull a water skier along with his fin. I am sure the french people at their festival would give that a 15 minute standing ovation!

Re: Open Water

Well they did get that Shark in Jaws to jump up onto the stern of the boat and put Quint in his mouth; so I think it can be done witht he right shark.

I always thought that was Spielberg in a rubber shark suit doing his Godzilla impersonation.

Re: Open Water

That was SO out of the blue! I literally jumped out of my seat when that happened...I MEAN SAM JACKSON?? EATEN?? HOW CAN IT BE???????? :P

Re: Open Water

The question is how can Renny Harlin have a job?

Lets look at the track record:

Land of Legend - Dont know anything about it
Killer's Game, The - Dont know anything about this except a lame sounding plot.
Exorcist: The Beginning - Yeah, we need another Excorcist film
Mindhunters - Jury is still out. I love Val but man, I think TOMBSTONE was his Swan Song.
Driven - Even Days of Thunder shines over this.
T.R.A.X. - eh?
Deep Blue Sea - Lame! Ruined our chances at seeing another Jaws.
Long Kiss Goodnight, The - Not terrible I admit.
Cutthroat Island - Could have been cool; the mistake? Casting Gina Davis as a badass Pirate. Youre killin me.
"Gladiaattorit" - eh?
Cliffhanger - The decline of Stallone continues (I love Stallone; why cant he do more COPLAND type stuff?)
Adventures of Ford Fairlane, The - Need I say anything?
Die Hard 2: Die Harder - Horrible. Why didnt they bring back McTiernan? (Who is so underated)
Prison - Never heard of it
Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, A - Eh?
Born American - Never Heard of it
Huostaanotto - Never heard of it

Totally! It was totally random when he was eaten. But don't we often claim movies are too predictable? That was one time when you weren't expecting it. I mean maybe you were expecting the shark to jump out, but Jackson getting munched on by a shark like a chubby kid eats chicken mcnuggets?!?! Come on, not many were expecting that!

Re: Open Water

That's what I mean... that's what made it so much fun. We're so conditioned by Star Trek to know that whenever the actor is someone you don't recognize, they're next to get it... but here was the biggest star in the pic, giving the most dramatic speech of the whole pic... and - WHAM.

That was some good stuff.
