One take split screen rap music video with variable speed!

Before christmas I shot and did post-production on a music video for the norwegian rap-duo Karpe Diem. The video consists of two one takes put together in a split screen. With variable speeds. All the clichés at once, but hey, it's fun!

Karpe Diem - Krølla 50-Lapp Y'all

The directors idea was to have the artists walk through a huge underground club with different themes and looks for every room. The artists searching for a dreamgirl called Esther. We wanted to fill the video with colors, characters and details so that you "have to" watch it again.

We had a very low budget and the location was very limited in terms of electricity, but we pulled it off.

I hope you guys enjoy it and we're very anxious to hear what people think of it. So if you have any comments or questions we really appreciate it!

The video was directed by Sveinung Gjessing, produced by Bjørn Asgeirsson, awesome production design by Patrick Svaninger, makeup by Jeanette Villanger Pedersen og Hanne Kjersi Vikeby.

Thank you, we went for a gritty look, maybe it ended up a bit too trashy...

I used an Easy Rig made for 16mm camera, so I put on extra weight under the HVX to get the right motion. For light we used an onboard led panel... don't remember the name right now.

The Easyrig made the camera shake because of me walking instead of just my hands shaking... Hard to explain, it's another style of shaking. Haha, sounds stupid.

Thanks, guy from Drammen with awesome username! We used a kinda cheap fisheye lens, don't remember the name actually.

It's supposed to air on MTV Norge, The Voice and the ever so great Svisj, but Chirag says the magic words f*ck, faen og b*tch, so they're figuring it out.

Then, no 35mm - adapter such as redrock or sgpro in other words :)
Yes, those damn rapperwords! I will look for the vid on TV, and enjoy the HVX in all its glory ;)

Once again, cool vid! Nice to see norwegian work!
