One man Crew Commercial

This is my first time posting some of my work, however i was really excited about this one because i wrote the scrip, filmed, edited ('one man crew' "the low budget one day shoot and edit spot") and submitted on Beta Sp in less than two days. Oh yeah its in spanish and airs in primetimes in the monterey bay area. Comments and thoughts appreciated.

Looks like a pretty good local commercial.
Mi no habla Español, but you definitely succeeded in being one of those commercials where the brand name will stick in my head.

my only suggestion would be to include a "beep beep" car alarm sound effect at the end because I couldn't tell what he was doing when he raised his hand out to the car at first. It's OK because it looks kinda like he's shooting the car or something like "your my car!", but that seemed a little weird and I had to rewind to make total sense of it.

I like the graphic.

Pretty good especially for one day.

I thought it was really good for a local commercial shot. Definately better than some of the ones I see playing now.

It looks quite nice for your first attempt. I agree with the the "beep-beep". The video look doesn't really matter that much, it is a local commercial after all and Comcast, Adelphia or Time Warner do not shoot in 24fps. Even though I "no habla espanol" either it got the point across.

One small recommendation:

Shoot the close-up of the guy pulling up to the car a bit wider, to show the window frame of the car he was in. Also, try and match the height and distance for a more accurate point-of-view from the other driver. These two things would help "sell" the shot. As it is currently shot, it looks too staged.

Great images with the HVX camera! Really looks good in the bright sunlight! Was it 1080 or 720? Looks like 1080 to me...

Thanks every one for your replies. I did shoot in 1080 60 i because it sounds like what im use to using coming from DV.. and iv shot alot of stuff in 24pn because it gives me 22 minutes with one 8 gig card yet it looks a bit strange when i drop it in a sd time line.. Im new to it so any advice Id love to shot in these modes to impress clients.

As for the mics i used the Sennheiser evolution g2 They work great! ALL Voice was recorded with this mic. Sound was edited in Sound Track

I should have rase the levels on the beep but there is one their i just lost it. that was the hardest Sound effect to get. I just Mic my Car horn and looped it twice but level was abit low..

Thanks for the shooting tips i still have lots to learn i just submitted to receive barrys book from pani, i hope it helps..

As for all my graphics a local guy that is going to team up with me made the logo in AI a month ago and i just made it Move in AE Easy one to mimic and the rest i used Final Cut and Motion.

Ill keep more coming I enjoy sharing my thoughts on others amazing work so id like you guys to critic mine, today i filmed a local Chevy Dealers spot and next week for a nissan dealer. ill post soon
