Thanks for your comment ! :) The lens is a C-mount Computar 25mm 1:1.8 CCTV lens. Before the color correction the vignetting was almost invisible, but due to the contrast correction, it appears more.

Great, very nice! reminds me of scenes from the Iranian film White balloon by Panahi. That Cosmicar is amazing, I ordered the 25mm $60 Pentax C mount 1.2, hope it has same vignette.
What's your experience with C mount CCTv lenses under 25, like a 12mm, will it vignette to the point one is looking down a toilet tube roll?

Thanks for your comment :) Effectively C-mmount lenses below 25mm are vignetting. I try once a 4.5mm c-mount CCTV lens with the 2X crop factor option of the GH1, it was great. But the quality was not so good due to the 2X digital, and the lens was too protubering into the camera. What is the link of the lens you are talking of ?
PS I've done several tests of C-mount lenses on my vimeo's : http://vimeo.com/album/145580

Yes I've heard that effectively the crop factor of the GH2 is different from the GH1. It might be useful with the fast 25mm lenses such as the Angenieux 0.95, and maybe the 16mm. For the 12mm, I really don't know. I'm going to have a GH2 soon ,I will do tests as soon as possible.

It's certainly cheaper than a Voigtlander 0.95 at this point so will test the 12mm and should have a Gh2 by December as well to test. My ebay account has been fished so BH is my only source for the CCTV's but they have a very decent selection.

Seb! I'm a big fan of all your work!!! This looks great. I've noticed that on some of your other "films' you are using slow motion. Can you describe your settings? 60p or 50p? AVCHD or MPG? Are you using the C settings for the hack? I want to try that style. I'm the guy on Vimeo asking about the arri mount Xenon 25mm. I'm trying to get it if I can find an adapter. Can't afford the ANG 25mm 0.95 for now. Keep up the great work!!!

I'm shooting in AVCHD 720P NTSC 60 fps with "jobless settings". For the slow motion, I'm changing the frame rate from 60 fps to 30 fps (right click on the rush in the list files, then "modify".

wow. thanks for sharing your work. very inspiring.

i have a little kid, and i couldn't resist the itching. just ordered a pentax 25mm 1.4, an adapter, and a step up ring.

it seems max aperture is the way to go for cctv type. the step up ring is to use 52mm fader nd filter to keep the shutter at 60th or 120th.

did you use hand-held without a rig?

Thanks for your comment :) Yes, indeed I used hand-held without a rig.

I enjoyed this, thought it was a good fit for the theme from an alternative perspective.

j'ai pensé que le montage était vraiment bonne. bravo

Thoroughly enjoyed this, Seb. A really nice shot-as-you-found-it piece and so captivating. The edit and music fit really nicely together.
Cheers,
Sam.
