One channel of audio into two

Hi! I recorded some audio that's only in the left channel because I couldn't figure out how to make it record in left and right. I'm trying to figure out how to take my left channel audio and duplicate it to the right channel so I have mono audio in both channels. Haven't done this since my FCP 7 days where it was quite easy, and i'm sure i'm missing a relatively simple solution in Premiere. Any thoughts?

In my experience Premiere audio channel mapping has to be done in the project panel BEFORE you lay it into the timeline. If I recall you right click the audio file>modify>audio>.. and then remap. Is there a reason you need dual mono tracks vs. a single center panned mono track?
 
Audio Effects>Stereo>Fill Right. Add that to your audio clip and you'll be good to go.

FCP7 makes so much more sense as it's an actual pan control. But for Premiere, you'l need to use the fill effect.

A single center panned mono track is actually all I really want. Do I accomplish that the same way?

This turned my left audio into no audio unfortunately.

EDIT: Fill Left, for some reason, is what ended up doing the trick. Bizarre. Thanks for your help!!
 
Fill Left is the correct option. It means that it takes the LEFT channel sound and copies it to the RIGHT CHANNEL. Might be called Fill with Left instead, would make more sense.

As the source clip had stereo tracks and most (all?) export formats default to stereo, the Fill Left option makes the most sense to me versus messing with Mono tracks. I've been editing for 20 years and never used a Mono track for anything ;-)
