Once

Recently saw this film and really liked it. The music and performances were great and the look and feel was very natural and intimate. And all you indie filmmakers might appreciate that it was made for just $160k but has grossed more than $10 million.

Steven Spielberg said, "A little movie called Once gave me enough inspiration to last the rest of the year."

Has anyone else seen it?

P.S. Did a search and didn't find another topic about this movie. Sorry if it's a repeat.

I posted a rave here for this film a few months ago. I loved it! For the money, one of the best this year. Loved the rough lighting and camerqa work as well.

I think alot of filmmakers are way to concerned with exact camerawork. This movie has a bunch of rough edges that work.

Saw this last night. In short, I loved it. While at times the film is "visually rough", it's never incompetent. The framing and choice of shots is rock solid, as is the cutting, and the audio mix very polished. A movie like this makes me feel like I'm trying too hard sometimes. There's nothing clever or cutting edge or "cool" about this film. Just a simple story simply told. Kind of like the cinematic equivalent of a Beatles song. Just goes to show you there's no substitute for story and heartfelt emotion.

Saw it at a local cinema a while back and simply fell in love with it. Fantastic film and music. Have the soundtrack now, too.
