On The Street In NYC

Hope this is not double-posts as I had some problems with server interruption when trying to post the first time.

Was in NY yesterday (6/28) and noticed a major production shoot at Broadway and Park Row in lower Manhattan. First thing I noticed was the fake snow and then the Panavision camera. While the sidewalk lookie-loos (LA term) were scanning for star talent (I don't even recognize stars when I bump into them), I was looking for production gear. Next to the Panavision camera on dolly was a guy shooting an HVX on a monopod. I got his attention between takes, but didn't catch his name. Tells me that this is a feature shoot and the HVX footage will be intercut with the 35mm footage. By the way, he said they are dumping P2 to hard drive for editing in FCP.

Did you catch the production company name or project? I wonder if it will be released in the theatres? Did you catch his camera settings??

Sounds like commercial work.

From what I could tell, the name of the feature is Jumper. I could not get production company or any other details.

In the last two weeks...it could either be Jumper, Spring In Her Step, or Talladaga Nights. Jumper & Talladaga nights are using them as Behind the Scenes cameras and for some reference work. Spring in her step is shooting three cameras, all HVXs, for their car stunt work. Talladaga was only doing reshoots.

Guys, I live about a block from where they were shooting [and they were actually shooting on my block the other week] it.s the new Spiderman film. It was actually kind of cool to see [not at park row, but when they were shooting on my street] - they had strung up the spydercam from one highrise to another, and then rigged their pany camera to it and just flew the damn thing down the street [right in front of my terrace actually :) ] - Given that though, I don.t really believe the guy who said the HVX footage will be intercut [not the guy who posted it, but the guy who said it...] maybe it.s just effect stuff...?

Mark.
