On Location in Louisiana

Ha! Thanks for that, Paul! What's that in the lower right - is it a flag of some kind, or screen or what? Also, was the barge moving? If it was moving, didn't you have a problem with the light bobbing and weaving and stuff?

OldCorpse, in the lower right is a 24X36 silk we used a a bottomer to reduce the harshness of the light off the water. The shoot actually took place from dusk till dawn and the pic was taken at wrap. The barge was anchored at four points so there was no movement, and as you can see the water was dead calm.

Patryk, there was a Honda EU 6500IS generator placed on the boat to power the lights.

Cool. Though speaking of boats - Knife In The Water is the epic shooting on a boat pic for me... and a feature debut, no less; great film (B&W)... think of what equipment was available in 1960 in a communist country, and they pulled it off... would love to have seen how they rigged stuff on that shoot!!!

Here are some behind-the-scenes from making this fantastic film:

Thanks a lot for that, Patryk - these are absolutely amazing... look what they had to do with on such a small boat - stunning... it would be very hard even today, but in the beginning of the 60's, it's beyond anything...

Wow, how did you like being in a swamp all night? I'd bet that behind the camera there is NOT your 4 star hotel just a few yards back on shore!
