on camera ND filters, strange

HI all,

can someone just clear this up for me or is there a problem with the camera, when pushing the ND switch to 1/8 the reading on the lcd displey says ND:off yet still adjusts the picture correctly(about 3 stops) then when i push the switch to 1/64 the disply reads 1/8 but seems to again adjust the brightness levels correctly?

whats happening?

Also occassionaly it will say 'ND NG' on the display.....what does this mean??

Never encountered the problem you're describing. ND NG means that the switch hasn't been moved properly, it's not fully moved into position, it's sitting between positions.
 
OK, i think i worked it out, i was playing with the switches in quite a dark room where the ND's were not needed,.......so the lcd display was telling me that - when in 1/8 nd mode i should switch it to 'off' and the same in the 1/64 mode, it was telling me that the switch should be moved down to 1/8......i.e there was not enough light for the camera with that ND selected.....

so if you put your camera in a dark room then turn on the 1/8 ND it should flash - ND:off in the display....
