On camera light

I can vouch for the VidLED's. I've lit scenes at night with them. They're tough, very portable and small enough you can stick them about anywhere.

Yep, black is an option.

Dig it!

Thanks Marius! It was good talking with you on the phone today and thanks for accommodating my short timeline. I’m looking forward to putting the VidLED to good use this weekend.

Oh, yeah, we have those already; the same thing as for DVX/HVX, just for Sony.
A couple of things though;
1) you have to specify EXACTLY what battery you use first
2) there will be some extra days in order to get the correct adapter
3) price is the same as for the DVX/HVX adapter

vidled-
looking into getting one. i shoot some weddings and am wondering how long the light lasts on the battery, or what my options are to add batteries...

If you are referring to the charge for the deluxe series, I've gotten up to two hours of continuous use in my testing.

I used my DELUXE coolLED-40 w/ theSeparate Lithium Ion Battery Pack DPS-9000 for an evening shoot (about 4 to 5 hours long.) The light was on for most of the night, but because the coolLED-40 is so bright I only ran it at 25-35% of max capacity. At the end of the night I still had plenty battery left.

Which type of Vidled would be the best choice if I intend to use it in various situations, like day shots and night shots. The brightest one and then trim it down with gels when needed?

Sweet! :dankk2:
Although this reads wrong; the DELUXE series VIDLED lights have a BUILT-IN battery pack and CAN NOT be attached to an external battery source!

Yes, the coolLED is the one we sell the most of for exactly the reasons you mention; can be gelled down & starts off at the brightest level.

I've been using the Cool VidLEDs next to my Light Panels and the Cool VidLEDs are MUCH brighter.

Now if I could find a way to bolt FOUR of them together and power them with ONE BIG (bolt-on) battery pack I'd be in business!

wOOt!

Hehe, we can easily do THREE together (two bolts from the top light into the middle one, and two bolts through the bottom light into the middle one).

If you're serious about this though, I could have a look at getting you to bolt 4 together, I'm sure there's a relatively easy way to do that, for instance with two VERY long bolts.

Let me know....

Yes, I'm pretty serious about bolting 4 together.

Do you have a way to power all 4 with one massive battery pack?

Good stuff!

Great, we'll get working on that over the next day or two; connection of the four lights and powering off one battery pack; don't see this as too big of a problem, and I already have a few ideas...
Since it's probably quite a unique request, I'll go to private communication via email with the details from now on.

Cheers

whoops, sorry Marius.. yes the correct model is: coolLED-40

I have not yet purchased a Vidled, but it has very impressive specs, particularly at that price point. Now, at a much higher price point, I have been impressed with the Zylight models.
