On camara micro (HPX500)

Which Micro do you use? The panasonic recomendation AG-MC200G is 330 $ or the AJ-MC700 that is quite expensive (around 900$).
I have seen in other threads the Rode NTG1 or the audiothecnica AT 875 that are around 200$.
What are you using?

We went with the rode ntg1. So far so go though we haven't really been all that particular about it. It is a nice size for the camera though.

I wouldnt spend much money on an on camera mic. Get one thats good enough to get you by and then hire an audio crew if you really need great sound.

Buy that cheaper panasonic mic and you will be fine.
