On and off on a 100AE

When the camera shuts itself off after being idle for some minutes, is there a way to reput her to life avoiding switching off and on again the red/black button switch?
My old 900 did this pushing the still pix button. Is there anything similar on this wonderful DVX100??

in the settings you can select it to go to standby mode instead of shutdown. the user manual covers it if you havnt found it yet.

I too often find out that I have left the camera in the On position. Next day when I pick it up, the batteries are flat. I thought that since the camera went off and into black, it would not use any more batteries? Obviously thats not the case....or not?

Thats why they say in the instructions to take out the battery. And in fact it can ruin a battery so it won't recharge according to the manual. 8)

Is there by the way anyone that can recomend the batteries that DVX.com have on offer?
