am an aspiring film maker in africa.. i really want to know what a DVX100A can do without any additional special lense. what can i achieve with just a newly acquired DVX. please i really need to know if i can make something tangible out of just the cameral before engaging on buying extra lenses and other hardwares. thanx.:dankk2:

The dvx is a very capable camera.
Iraq In Fragments made on dvx100 original, stock lens.

It was a great success and the man behind it made another film this year with a dvx100 that also won an Oscar.
Many people think they need a certain thing for success and I get that all the time, but it comes down to the content content.

head over to the dvx footage section and check out people's work there. there is plenty of footage shot with the stock lens.
as far as "iraq in fragments" is concerned, realistically your footage will not look that good. longley had his footage uprezzed to hd, professionally colored, and transferred to film. so yes it does show what the camera is capable of, but you're going to have to spend serious money to get it to that point.
