Added some cool muzzle flashes n gunshots... :D

Saw the kids playing outside, grabbed the Af100 and shot them quickly in the 20 minutes or so before lunch.

Edited and VFX on PP and AE (CS5) with CoPilot SFX.
All in all, excluding export and render, whole shebang took me about two hours.

Sunday Afternoon fun with the kids and I got some practice... :)

Looked awsome for a quick and dirty. Looked like the kids had fun. Was the guy running into the house at 0:25?

On the technical, have yet to see an 8 round revolver (didn't see her reload).

Ha Ha, I didn't even notice.
Some random family member getting the salt I imagine...
As for the revolver... it's one of those new fangled 'movie' specials - Unlimited ammo and 357 western gunshot effect! Yeah baby!

:D

Is easy to see all had fun with this project. What did the kids think of the outcome?

Loud laughter and gratuitous sharing on their facebook pages.. haha

Yeah, twas a lot of fun :)

Busy on a feature at an Art school with the Af100 and an F3. Shot an impromptu short with the school kids yesterday afternoon. Just waiting for the wide shots from the F3 and I'll upload it. I enjoy these 2 minute shorties between the bigger projects! :D Keeps me young!

...I wonder if it wouldn't have been better just after lunch but before dinner...and not intruding on tea-time?

Nope, just before lunch is the best time to shoot because everyone on set steps it up a gear out of shear starvation since tea time is already 2 hours in the past. Then there's the afternoon nap (don't want to interfere with that) and the fact that kids would want to keep making a movie the whole damn afternoon if you aint clever. thus the 20 minutes preceding lunch has uber power!

lulz... I have no clue why I mentioned the 'just before lunch' thing... it may have had something to do with wanting to show off my uber home video skills and super human fastness in amateur shortie production in some kind of well meaning effort to inspire others to make a lot of shorties in a few hours and show off their uber quickie skills. (Whoaa! All in one sentence!)

Usually I go for sex and violence in these sorts of genres... but since kids were involved, I guess it'll just be violence...

Since there was advertisement that it was shot on a rather short production schedule, I'll say it's pretty good. A few places I think focus could have been better, and I would have probably given more
air space on some of the 'closeups'... but other wise I made it through to the final credits...

Yeah, Agreed. When I sat doing the post I the same thoughts. Would have been nice to have a close up on the little boy's eyes in the beginning, an establishing shot or two, a nice two shot of her trying to hit him as he runs across frame. etc.

These little impromptu exercises are very good for getting your mind used to filming action sequences!

Did you have something for stabilization, or was it all by hand?

Run n gun. All by hand.
I always try to simulate Jib movement when I film by hand.
Still lots of practice required!
