Olympus 50200 SWD with AF100?

Hello,

Anyone used the Olympus 50-200mm F/2.8-F/3.5 SWD lens with the AF100?
When used with the Panasonic adapter:

Does the push button auto focus work?
Does it have full iris control?
Does it balance well with camera or do I need a rod system for support and balance?

Thanks,

Nice answer nugat! Eloquently and concisely put.
Just so you know dharty there is a thread very similar to this you can ask these questions.
I'm in the same boat and am glad you asked, I wasn't thinking about getting a support with this lens + AF100 since it weighs less then 1KG. But I guess the ergonomics wouldn't be good.

What is a good option for support for a lens this size?

I am looking at the Cavision RS-1511 (250), which gets excellent reviews for being well built and is very reasonably priced.

I am also considering the Pentax DA 50-135mm F/2.8 lens, which is almost 2" shorter (longer back focus length though), 3" diameter instead of 4", and 665g instead of 995g for the Olympus. It also gets consistently good reviews.

1 kg/2pounds is at the limit of micro 43 mount. But with the adapter it becomes wobbly. Better not to risk.
BTW the Olympus adapter is much worse than the panasonic, which seems and is sturdier.
