Did somebody watch it?

It was really amazing! I heard that the US is going to show it later as a recording. If you have the time, GO watch it! Really incredible!

Yeah, it was on really early morning here. I'm going to try and catch a little bit of it later tonight on the replay.

I watched it and it was awesome!!! all those fireworks going off and........won't say more, maybe someone has not yet seen it.

Yeah we don't get to see it until this evening .... 7:00 PM I believe.

I love the Olympics and am excited to get this one kicked off.

The parade of countries is always my favorite part of the opening ceremonies.

Perhaps I will DVR it and watch it when I get home. Or I may just choose to watch it online at a later date.

At any rate, did they have the coughing ensemble play the tune? :D

You should definitely DVR it! You won't regret it. And the parade of countries was not the only interesting part. The chinese just did an outstanding performance overall. I had slightly wet eyes a few times :D Watch it and you will see! AMAZING!

Did I say already how great it was? :D

Before I go to bed.....The control software and hardware must have been impressive, cause syncying all those fireworks in the 2000 different spots of beijing must be really tough job, that said (and being a freelance in theater production) Iwould have paid to see how they built everything.

Last thing, the ceremony was part designed by a chinesse film director(can't remenber his name now) so that it would be designed to stand out on tv, and they had, just in the stadium and not counting the ones they had outside, 36 hd cameras..........paradise.......

Watched it last night and it was (trying to think of a new word that hasn't been used to describe it) .....superific!!!

Some of the technology they use to create the show will leave you scratching your head. You know it's a good show when you keep asking yourself "How'd they do that?" It was incrediful!!!

awesome. loved the first part the most with the 2008 doods beating the lighted "drums". and that lcd and globe thing. yeah, awesome. cool that they picked a filmmaker to put it all together!

This is probably the most spectacular live events I've ever seen. Running the torch around the stadium -- wow.

It was directed by Zhang Yimou (Curse of the Golden Flower, House of Flying Daggers, Hero)

It was very, very impressive. It was a fantastic showcase of LED technology, for example.

Didn't think the theme song was anything special, but loved every minute of the show. Great job.

Damn I forgot to DVR it! I would have liked to see it on the TV but I will have to settle for the computer. I will try to find it, maybe I will wait until tomorrow.

Stop,

China spent $100 mil on the opening cerimoney and $100 mil on the closing cerimoney (money)...

Will spent another $100mil on the closing.... Sorry :)

it cost a tremendous amount of money, but then again the production budget for spiderman 3 was something like 250 million. overall the ceremony was excellent, a great blend of old chinese artistry with new world technology. money well spent. :)
