I posted this over in Sony's forum, but figured it wouldn't hurt to look here as well.

This is my first foray into OLED territory. Coming from the B&W 2" CRT world, it's difficult to find a setting that works when shooting outside on this OLED. I understand there is no backlight on OLED VFs, but I have to crank the contrast to bring it to a place where I'm comfortable shooting in sunlight.
This is fine, but occasionally the camera/VF will forget to apply my contrast setting on startup. It isn't until I access the menu and change the contrast to by a value of +/-01 that the increased luminance/backlight/"contrast" kicks in.
Wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences.
