F5: Oled or LCD viewfinder

I'm Looking at a deal in Australia on the f5 the packages either come with the oled viewfinder or the LCD viewfinder with extra card and battery. Is there a huge difference between the two? I'm used to a Lcos viewfinder which has been great. Will the oled viewfinder make focus a lot easier than the LCD?

i'd go for the lcd+extras...

as some useres have been posting the OLED apparently has some skew...

i have the same problem with my SmallHD AC7 on my f55. it's very bugging...

other than that they both seem great.

;-)

One thing I like with the OLED is the expanded focus does not time out so you can shoot with it engaged. I dont know if the lcd has this, but I have to imagine so.

As for Sony brand VF, you might want the Zacuto since it offers you some exposure tools.

OLED.

It has higher resolution so better focus control. It has better dynamic range, truer blacks and better colors, so you can light and expose to it better. And exposure tools are coming for it soon. It is also not a humongous chunk hanging over the front of your camera, blocking your other eye's view as you are moving around shooting handheld.

I'd try them out? Oled does not operate from far back and other reported "issues"

ill stick with my dp6

as for exposure tools if you are viewing a lut onboard tool like zacuto or suchlike become irrelevant

I'd try them out

This is the best advice, who knows what you might like or not like. There is also the price difference to factor in, maybe the OLED is not worth the extra $$ to you. Although when I got my camera the deal was the OLED for the same price as the LCD.

I've ordered the OLED for the reasons Mitch outlined above. The LCD does seem a little clunky as I'm trying to reduce the Frankencamera setup of my F3. The OLED really did have a great image quality when I tested it.
