Try going to M mode, ISO 3200, f/16, fast shutter, in low light plain surface (wall), then entering preview mode (push shutter preview button AND then push "display" button). The display will not be ramped up, and you will see all the raw FPN/banding glory of the sensor (pretty awful). But shoot a picture and there's much less. (Probably still objectionable though)
