Hey there,

I have an existing Rode Videomic and bought the Rode XLR jack so it works with my HMC150 but I was wondering if this is a good solution? The mic fits onto the 150 fine but am I causing myself issues with this or will the quality be fine?

Many thanks,

Rik

So you are using a mini to XLR adapter?

I use one for a Audio-technica wireless LAV and had no problems.... Best thing to do it GO TEST TEST TEST! :cheesy:

I've been using this set up with no problems so far as I have been able to tell. The Videomic is mounted on it in my Avatar pic.

That's the combo I use after switching from Sony FX1s. It works great. Though it would be nice to have the mic tucked away with the hardware that comes with the 150, I think the sound is better because it's farther away from the body. The thing is, though, the cam isn't noisy like a tape drive cam, so it may be moot.

Cheers folks,

Got mine mounted on the body tho it does pick up a hell of a lot of handling noise
