hi I would like to buy Carl zeiss sonnar 2.8/135 T . If I get it with adapter (ebay) , peaking is gonna work ? What about push auto (focus button) ? [h=1][/h]

I'm sure the peaking would work, but auto focus will only work with e-mount lenses and certain lenses with the la2 amount adapter. I don't think the lens you listed even has the ability to auto focus...

The lens is fully manual.... you'll be setting both aperture and focusing it manually. Oh, and some of them have purple chroma at high contrast areas, which is why I sold mine.
By the way, you won't get full auto with any lenses other than the Sony's ( as far as I know. ) Not even with a Metabones adapter will you get Canon AF.

Yes I Know auto focus is not gonna work . Any way is great to hear -peaking gonna work :) .Button push focus which measure distance is also great . But I understand is only working with E mount lens ? Am I right ?

well... I mean some of the 135s seem to have a chroma issue. Not sure how visible it is with video, but with photography it's pretty damn obvious.

wow that much for a CZ 135...? I paid half for the one I sold again. I do suggest you should think it over... But I see your point in regards to the Sony.
Then again, it all comes down to what you shoot and what you want to get from it. How are we to say that what ever lense you choose is inferior.

There are both from the same line I mean "T" . One of them 30 years older . They are both coated . And question - Is technology of production lens improve so much to pay much , much more . I know old lens does not have it auto focus but I do not need it so much . In video auto focus is not work as I wish . I do not want to say there are not difference . It is and I know it . I am just wonder how much . It could be nice to hear someone who has old zeiss lens and new ones like SONY SAL-135mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Sonnar T

I read some statements saying that the Sony 135 is somewhat loud when focusing... not the best thing for video.

I bought old version yesterday . Auto focus as I said is not the most important for me . I paid 200eur . I am wonder what kind of mount is my Carl zeiss sonnar 2.8/135 T ?:) Is all of them with CONTAX YASHICA mount only ? On auction was not to write anything about mount [h=1][/h]

It's is CY. There are a number of 135s.

The modern ZA glass is a f1.8 which i believe is the fastest 135 you can get. It does have autofocus but it's the old style, not SSM and quite loud. Not suitable for video. One advantage of the modern ZA 135 is the minimum focus distance is closer than any of the manual lenses.

There is the CY 135 f2.8 which is a solid performer in general. There are various versions of that. Zeiss tended to change their CY lenses throughout their life. Certainly there are older AE versions and newer MM versions.

There is a CY 135 f2 which is a lovely piece of glass and on my list, there is also a special anniversary version of the 135 f2 as well but i don't know what the difference is (apart from cost). (There's also a very rare f1.2 55mm CY too)

There are no 135s in ZF or ZE yet although there's one rumoured. CP.2 top out at 100mm right now.

hope this helps

I have a 135 and the contrast in brightly lit situations is terrible.
I will check when my come, anyway that is not make me happy . This lens has tend to strong contrast. I will use flat preset . I will give chance 135 f.28 . If I do not like it I will sell it .

I think it's C/Y.. you can get a cheap adapter that works on Ebay.
I hope so I did not see any with different mount so far .
