Old DVX vs NEW DVX 200 and matching colors/scenes

So I have my old DVX 200 and a new DVX 200 fresh out the box. I matched up the WB, gain, scenes perfectly as far as I can tell and there is still a color difference. Here is scene 1 on both cameras. A lovely picture of my door, wall and trim. How creative. The older 1 seems to be darker/a bit yellower on the wall.

Firmware is the same, and I went through all the settings as well. Scratching my head.

I guess I'm wondering if this is normal - and should I just adjust this one camera to the other 2? The other two are closer to the same age and seem to be a perfect match.

Yeah, it's normal. Common question.

Simply impossible to replicate another camera and companies can only get as close as possible, which is usually very good and imperceptible.

If you matched up a few hundred DVX200s, chances are good a few may look a little different, especially newer ones in an extended product cycle when companies have the opportunity to quietly make hardware improvements.

You'll have to paint one camera or the others to match them by eye.

Check that the firmware is the same. The color palette changed somewhere around version 1.4 or 1.5. They added a new command so you could choose either the original or new color palette, so ensure that that setting is the same on all cameras. It's in OTHER FUNCTION -> COLOR TONE.

Ok, that's kind of what I was thinking - newer hardware improvements. Will see what I can do. thanks!

FWIW, it looks like your new camera got rid of the green tint so that's a positive depending on how you look at it.

In general, cameras in the history of cameras have a tug-of-color with green and magenta.

yes, the newer one is definitely more accurate.

Do you have a lens filter /protector on any of them?

I bought 3 HMC150s that didn't match. 2 new at the same time that didn't match and a couple years later bougt a third new one which was pretty close to one of the first 2. A main reason we buy the exact same cameras is so they will match yet they still don't.
I've been considering buying another UX180 because I'm tired of my other assorted Panasonics not matching but if I did I may end up with 2 non-matching 180s especially since the 1st one is a few years old now.
At least the dvx200 and ux180 have a lot of color adjustability so they should be able to be painted alike
