Oklahoma City Memorial

Hey guys, I'm a long time reader and hardly ever post. This site is so full of great information. I took a DVX100A to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial yesterday afternoon and thought I got some really nice looking shots. Take a look at it and let me know what you guys think. Any critiques are welcome! Sorry it's on youtube...

Looks good, man. LOVE Imogen Heap and it fit well. Looks like you shot at the perfect time of day, as the light/sunset helped out immensely.

Composition looked pretty good, but there's always room for improvement. A little shaky for my tastes, but hey... not like it's that important here.

Was that squeeze mode or letterboxed?

I particulary like the opening shot of the bird. The colors are beautiful.

Ha, yeah. I am horrible about keeping the camera still. It was pretty windy yesterday as well. My friend was using the tripod while I was just getting some handheld stuff.

I shot it in squeeze mode and edited it in Vegas. Really no purpose for the video other than to try out some new found knowledge after reading everything I could find on these boards.

Compared to what I used to achieve before reading tips on here and what I got out of the camera yesterday is amazing. Thanks so much to everyone that takes the time to help out the newbies like myself!

Surprisingly no. I couldn't have asked for better natural lighting yesterday. I added some saturation, messed with the black levels and added a hint of orangeish yellow to it to further bring out the warmth.

In playing with the color, giving it that "Berlin" look (as magic bullet calls it) was also a really cool looking effect. It was very cold and gave a different impact to the footage. I liked the natrual warm look more though so I went with that.

I just got my HVX200 last week and was planning on getting my inagural web poting footage at the memorial. I'm just waiting for the colors to get a bit more "spring" look to it. Thanks for beating me to it...

Just Kidding. It looks great! I can't wait to get mine out there!

Sorry!

It will be cool to see an HVX versus the DVX in the same location. Be sure and post up some clips when you have something put together. It's good to see a fellow DVXUser from OKC!

Hey thanks man. That is a song by an artist named Imogen Heap. The song is called "Hide and Seek". She used to be in Frou Frou. Awesome music for video work.
