OKC Thunder & Me

All about the Caption
Just got hired (freelance) today by FOX Sports as a camera operator for the entire season of home games. <--- (Monster® energy drink; I'm on the wagon...)

When the Hornets played in OKC for two seasons following Hurricane Katrina, I was a camera operator for the in-house system. This time around, its for the broadcast. :)

Thanks, my girlfriend is pretty excited about it.

Maybe I shoulda got on the wagon a bit sooner... :D

Congrats.

Are you going to be one of those camera guys that the players constantly run into and step on?

Lets hope not.

That's how I plan to finance my RED Epic.

No, actually, I'll be operating a camera that's on sticks with a big "box" lens. Not sure, but I'll be operating either what's known as "chase", "slash", or "game" camera.

"chase", "slash", or "game" camera.
Can you explain these. I am not too familiar with sports event shooting.

congrats. You got a sweet gig, a sexy lady, a little one on the way, a cool dog, a monster energy drink and a wagon to ride on. Man who says the economy is down. You got it made.

Game camera - The main wide shot of the action. Usually positioned high and center court. The one that's (most often) on air during play.
Chase camera - Shoots tight shots of whoever has the ball. Usually positioned next to the game camera. Most often used in replays. Has other responsibilities like tight shots of coaches, etc.
Slash camera - Placed high on the diagonal of the court and alternates shooting tight and wide shots. Sometimes functions as game camera for brief periods to break up the monotony of seeing play from the same perspective.

btw, That's not really my girl. I could only wish to be so lucky! :cheesy:

Awesome gig, Terry! Except for the part about it being basketball.

Dangle a cowbell of your cam so we can easily spot you in any cross coverage.
