OIS on or off for best image quality???

On the DVX, absolutely not. After all, it's an OPTICAL Image Stabilization system, which does nothing but to smooth out movements. If it was an electronic stabilization system, it would kill some resolution.

Although, it is recommended that you keep the OIS off for tripod and steadicam shots.

Or even camera movement when done by hand.

As far as I can tell, it's only good for locked shots when hand-held. And who'd do that?

Oh well, it doesn't ruin normal handheld footage, just smoothes out the small vibrations in the image. :) You cannot use it to simulate a tripod or steady your shot much in any way.

And by the way, lens flares and stuff may whop around when the OIS is enabled, it may be very distracting sometimes.
