Hey DVXusers,

We started shooting this new movie for the DramaFest.

Synopsis:

One happy go lucky guy meets another suicidal and paranoid man. Are they two separate beings with different experiences? or... Are they both influenced by something much larger within a collective? Is it that one realizes what is happening around him and the other is ignorant? They convince one another of their own perspectives and world views. A role reversal takes place. Who was once happy becomes the suicidal. Who was once suicidal sees another side of life and finds hope.

Moral: It's all there in life. It's all absurd. It's just how you look at it and what you decide to take out of it.

We'll have some BTS interviews soon and a "making of" featurette.

I named the thread incorrectly by accident. Could a moderator change it to "Oh Eric, Where Art Thou?" instead of "Are". Thanks

Thanks Jeremy. You rock. I was going to go with color but Marcus thought it would be better in BW. I'm glad we did. I can't picture it in color anymore.

Thanks! No, unfortunately Esther will not be appearing in this film. She lives 2000 miles away with family at the moment. I miss her. When I'm feeling too sad I look at this picture I took of her :

She's an awesome dog. I hope to bring her out to the sunshine state once we get a house. Right now we're in an apartment and they don't like pets. :(
 
Who do I contact to get my thread title changed to:

Aaron, Great to see you guys in on this one. HOw's it coming along? Also, is marcus on board for the score or did he make his way over to the states to help film?

a black and white film should be an interesting watch. :)

I don't think we're going to submit this film. It's insanely stupid. I wouldn't want to insult fellow filmmaker's genuine efforts. Our goal was to make a drama/comedy blend. Like all bad jokes it turned to be like an inside joke only funny to us.

All that synopsis stuff above was BS. I was trying to be all pseudo beret wearing art film student. I even gave my own thread a "terrible" star rating. I wish there was some way to give it half a star. However the screenshots are real. If I could have made the film that was stated in the synopsis, it might not have been half bad.

We still might show it for exhibition and a good laugh. I think fellow filmmakers might get a kick out of it. We showed it to a few people in our inner circle and got mixed reactions. A couple of people loved it, another couple... hated the film's guts.

Marc and I star in this dazzling masterpiece of modern cinema. We shot it in 2 whole hours, including the drive to and from location, plus traffic. So if you break it down we had a good solid 1-1.3 hrs of solid filmmaking. Well actually, if you deduct the walking, talking, laughing we probably did about 10 minutes of actual filmmaking. If we were shooting on film it would have had a 1:1 ratio. Everything is first take. I would tell you who scored it but it would ruin it for you.

Ha!! That in itself is worth the watch! Both of you guys are amazing musicians so it'll be a pure treat to see what 'either of you' come up with.

Half a star? Love/Hate... Either way, it's a spontaneous emotion from the film. There's no.. "Well, it was OK." :)

Thanks a million Justin. That means a lot.

For this score we intentionally sought after some really bad sounding music. We went a step further and did some audio mutilation. We weren't kidding when we said we pulled out all the stops.

We need to add two whole lines of dialog and the entire film is finished.
 
I absolutely loved it. Okay, you're right not to enter it into DramaFest, but thank you for sharing. Eyebrow acting...an Oscar for that alone. And Eric(?) over the bridge, priceless. You may have found a voice. This is SOOOOOO much better than your last fest entry, too bad it wasn't a comedy fest. You made a damned fine movie.

ha, you guys are too kind. Thank you. I'm glad you liked the eyebrow acting. They should have a new category in the Oscars for eyebrow acting. I would kick everyone's butt. That is unless Jack Black or Jim Carey entered. Still, though...pshh, I'd win.
