Offset Shoulder Rig?

Based on what I have seen, I am most intrigued by Redrock's shoulder mount kit

Does anybody know how it performs with a Z-Finder? My main concern is how the eyecup will line up if the camera is sitting directly in front of my shoulder. Will this really be a problem, or is it barely noticeable? I see they also sell an offset kit...

My second choice was the indiFocus ULTRAcompact shoulder system.

Does anybody have any experience with the indi products? Do they hold up pretty well, despite the price tag? I plan on taking my kit into forests, mountains, outdoorsy adventures, etc., so durability is mandatory.

You might want to take a look at this rig I just purchased.
It's basically the Gini Rig (do a search here) but this one is from China not Korea.. Seems like the same thing just better handgrips. I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

Offset like this?

yeah, looks good! let me know how that works out for you...

On second thought, couldn't I just buy the ULTRAcompact then put some Redrock handles on there? They both use 15mm rods, don't they? So it should work...

Also, does anybody know if the 7D will fit into the ULTRAcompact with the Z-Finder Pro? I am concerned the Gorilla plate will throw things off...

True, you could.. The only issue I had with the Indi stuff was how the clamps worked. They screw in instead of using pressure which causes the paint to scratch off.
Other than that, it looks like good gear. I know I'll be getting the Indi FF with snap gears soon as well.

i cut my indirailspro xvsm so i could offset it this weekend. Now the camera is directly in front of my face (w00t)
