Some of us, myself included, will soon jump into 4K water and not even be able to play it back on a 4K-TV Set. I guess we can justify this by saying that anything we shoot in 4K will be future-proofed and archived so when 4K becomes the standard for broadcast were ready.
In the meantime if we just want to get our feet wet working with 4K, or need to deliver it, can we downgrade to Pro Res, edit in Pro Res and then re-attach the 4K media for output? If some of you guys are doing this with older edit systems like FCP-7, perhaps you’ll be willing to share your step-by-step workflows.
