This was mentioned last week unofficially, but here it is officially:

just got back from the dv-expo & there are some sweet hd's out (& comin' out) that will hook up nicely to this cam & give ya up to 2hrs. of storage. :beer:

actually had the panasonic not-yet-released unit on the 200 @ the show as well. (anyone else see it? correct me if i'm wrong)

it's the future embrace it.
 
For some reason I thought it was going to be about $10,000 to have a decent HVX setup....Was that including a new computer? 6995.00 doesn't seem nearly as bad as 10k

650 is card price for bundle 1
500 is card price for bundle 2
650 is card price for bundle 3 WITH 5! cards instead of 1 or 2 cards - that's stupid!

Also stupid that there's no bundle with cam plus one 8gig card - being stupid around the problem of hotswapping as you will practically need 3 cards for that if want to continuously record.... encouraging to buy two but not to buy one 8gig at bundle price.
Also can get the 8gig card in Canada for 1800 CAD that 1550 US dollars - so where's the consistency there? is that to make up for the higher camera price in Canada? Why don't they stop messing around and regulate prices as it will speed up their sales by getting rid of consumer confusion and hesitation... Stupid!

That means I can buy the camera in the US and the cards in Canada, saving a bundle!

Having said that the camera is fantastic and the whole sytem will be great to use, I am getting one just dithering and delaying because of all the bull**** pricing.
 
$ 7000 for about 15-20 mins of 720/25p (good for a day´s work with the immediate delete function of P2) is a very interesting deal.

i hope it is out in europe soon with similar rates.

Slight difference actually, sorry, that's the list price for 8gig card if buy two in Canada, so still nearly 1,000 dollars cheaper than US camera and bundle of 2x8gig cards - US 3100 for cards (bought in Canada) plus US 5900 for camera (US) = 9000 total as opposed to bundle price in US.
That is my take based on an actual quote given to me from Canada few weeks ago which quoted seperately for the 2 8gig cards at this price (ie not as bundled with camera).
I suggest you make some enquires to dealers themselves - could save a whack! if buying 8gig cards.

Or you buy the 2 card bundle plus another 3 cards for 8930...
 
alpi69, great is, that Panasonic Broadcast Europe has already stated to sell the camera including two 8GB P2 cards for under 10.000 Euro (list price, excluding value added tax). That is the same price like in the USA. So they cannot have an argument for selling the camera itself for over 6.000 Euro.
 
The price of the 4GB card is $650. Doesn't matter on which bundle. Lots of insane activity level brings about a couple of mistakes. Will be sure to correct it. But the rpice of the 4GB cards in the packages is $650.

Give a little time today to figure it all out.
