Official Oscars discussion thread

yeah, it was the strong fav (at least that's what the buzz in town suggested) but i was really captivated, from beginning to end, by TWBB.

No Country... well done. For the first time in history I can say that I saw most of the big winners in the theater. Good show, classy and fun. Stewart can stay on for my money. Nice job.

Nice academy awards. too bad I was doing this essay. But hey, got the essay done, just looking it over.

Now I gotta see NCFOM, wanted to see it for so long even before this, but now even more. Just have a feeling I'll go in with higher expectations, as I did for The Departed after seeing it win for best picture.

I'm a huge fan of Juno, but I agree that it should have at least won for screenplay, but not for best film.

AND THANKS ZAK! she's so hot

Mark was robbed... but aside from that it went pretty much the way I thought it should go. DDL and No Country... totally satisfied with that... I guess it's because I agreed... but after hearing Bardem speak I would have given him TWO OSCARS.

i dont mind it other hate it. but i think thats funny. people are like i cant see anything... well it won editing, lol.

I too was disappointed with Departed. Believe me, NCFOM is in a different league.

Ratatouille.. my god.. what an amazing film...

There will be blood.. I could have watched 3 more hours of that film...

No country.. ditto..

Juno.. could have been a 10 hour movie... the dialogue was really in your face at the start... but you could tell she was getting into her groove as the film progressed... loved it...

Daniel Day lewis is by far... probably the greatest actor of his time.. he is the brandon of his generation.. and I think.. even better than brandon.

peter jackson, is that you?

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Jon Stewart should NOT host the Oscars. He had 2 funny lines and that was it. The worst host was Ellen. Horrible, with Jon Stewart coming in a close second.

Glad No Country won Picture and Director. I really wanted Ellen Page to win Best Actress (I knew it wouldn't happen though, but it would've been awesome). Surprised by Tilda Swinton winning Supporting. I went with Blanchett for I'm Not There.

Yeah I started coming around last week on this film. Still not entirely stoked on on the ending; lack of .. but goddamn, it's almost as if the first 2 1/2 acts just nail it.

Like Frogs falling from the sky almost, one almost is left shocked and then in awe.
